Bike Love
Bike Love is in the Air!
Asheville on Bikes, Arts 2 People and the French Broad Brewery present the 4th Annual Bike Love Saturday, Feb 20th.
Doors open at 8:00pm and admission is $15. Bike Love will be held in a new spot this year: Dr. Neon’s Laboratory at 11 Richland St. This renovated church is located at the bottom of Waynesville across from Bell’s Mini Storage neighboring the River Arts District. Local Brew will be provided by French Broad Brewery and entrants must be 21 years of age.
Red Dirt Floor (featuring Marty Gallagher of Pro Bikes) will kick off the night of local music and will be followed by Jonathan Scales Fourchestra (featuring Jeff Sipe). Headliners, The Secret B-Sides will be sure to keep you rocking with their sexy, soulful rock and roll complete with a funky horns section.
There will be another Bicycle Raffle at Bike Love this year! Liberty Bicycles has donated a Trek 7.1 FX commuter/hybrid bicycle and we have a unicycle and other bicycle goods to add to the raffle fun. The winner can choose between the bicycle or a $440.00 gift certificate to put toward the purchase of another bicycle. Raffle tickets are currently on sale at Liberty Bicycles located on 1378 Hendersonville Rd. Tickets can also be purchased at the event.
New at Bike Love this year will be a photo booth courtesy of Castell Photography. Wear your finest threads and bring an extra $10 for a take home vintage shot. Also, traveling wood fired pizza will be available from the Rollin’ Stone Pizza Company.
This year, the funds raised will be used for the purchase of six new collapsible bike racks that will help us expand capacity at bicycle corrals during community events throughout the city. With the help of the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club, who will be buying six more bike racks, we will be able to significantly increase our ability to park bikes therefore encouraging more people to arrive by bicycle to city community events.
Bike Love is brought to you this year with the support of local shops and organizations who believe in Asheville’s bicycle movement. Without their support Bike Love would not be possible. Bike Love is brought to you by: Asheville on Bikes, Arts 2 People, French Broad Brewery, ProBikes, Liberty Bicycles, BioWheels, Youngblood Bikes, Ski Country Sports, Carolina Fatz, Sound Mind Media, Pisgah Works, Suspension Experts, Beauty Parade, and Pisgah Area SORBA.
We look forward to experiencing Bike Love 2010 with you!
Special thanks to Sound Mind Media for doing our poster this year.
