Ben Sollee Loves Bikes

We’re really excited about the upcoming Ben Sollee concert at the Orange Peel, Thursday, June 23rd. Not only does this incredible musician put on a great show, but he is an avid cyclist and activist and reached out to AoB to get involved with this show. We are going to have free bike parking at the Orange Peel, plus an info table inside. Anyone riding their bike to the show can pick up some free music and other goodies courtesy of Ben.

Ben is a genre-bending cello player from Kentucky, combining his Appalachian roots with an expansive musical pallet and keen songwriting to create gorgeous, captivating music that is all his own. Beyond his own band, he’s toured with Abigail Washburn and My Morning Jacket, and he finds time to advocate for causes like Oxfam, mountaintop removal, and bicycling. Whenever possible, Ben sets out on tour by bike, carrying his gear (cello included) on his Xtracycle-equipped Surly.

You can learn more about Ben, and find some cycling-related videos at his website: http://www.bensollee.com/
