2026 Primary Election Information

Election Day: Tuesday, March 3, 2026

Key Dates:

  • Voter Registration Deadline: February 6, 2026 at 5 p.m.
  • Early Voting: February 12-28, 2026
  • Absentee Ballot Request Deadline: February 17, 2026 at 5 p.m.

Early Voting Locations:

Early voting is available at 11 locations across Buncombe County, including:

  • Black Mountain Library
  • East Asheville Library
  • Enka-Candler Library
  • Fairview Library
  • Leicester Community Center
  • North Asheville Library
  • South Buncombe Library
  • Upper Hominy Fire Station
  • Weaverville Community Center
  • Wesley Grant Southside Center
  • West Asheville Library

Most sites open at 8:00 am and close at 7:30 pm during early voting. View the full Early Voting Schedule.

Important Reminders:

  • Photo ID required for all in-person voting
  • Same-day registration available during early voting
  • Curbside voting available for those unable to enter polling locations
